Firstly, we are absolutely delighted by the number of tutees who have signed up for our Summer Edge Tuition Programme. It’s been energising to see so many students choosing to stay sharp and engaged during the break, so thank you for your continued commitment!
While we always encourage rest and recovery over the summer, we know how valuable it is to keep those academic muscles active. The work completed over the summer months will absolutely pay off when September rolls around. If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to make the most of this brilliant opportunity.
BIG NEWS: We’re Now Offering Maths Tuition!
A shorter blog post this week is mainly focused on informing you that we’re thrilled to be offering key stage 3 and 4 Maths tuition for the 2025/26 academic year! A maths tutor is officially set to join the BA Tuition family and we cannot wait. From September 1st these Maths sessions will run alongside our English tuition sessions on selected days. This is a major step forward in offering even more comprehensive academic support under the BA umbrella. Whether it’s building core confidence or working towards top-tier exam success, our new Maths sessions will bring clarity, encouragement, and results.
We’ll be revealing more about our Maths offering throughout the summer, so keep an eye on our social media platforms for weekly updates, tutor insights, and sneak peeks of what’s to come. In the meantime, if you're interested, drop us an email or book an initial consultation HERE. We can't wait to show you what’s coming.
Top Tips: Staying Cool & Focused in the Heat
Let’s be honest, this week has been a scorcher! Whilst we love seeing the sunshine, it does bring challenges for both focus and productivity.
We’ve felt it too; the temptation to snooze through a hot afternoon is very real! But with a little strategy, it’s absolutely possible to stay on top of your studies (around the time you have to be in school) while keeping your cool. Here are our top tips for tutees working in the heat:
-
Hydrate First: Before any study session, have a large glass of water. Then keep sipping throughout. It’s one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay alert.
-
Morning Sessions Are Best: Try to do your most important work earlier in the day when temperatures are lower and your brain is fresh.
-
Shady Study Spots: Move to the coolest room in the house. If you're near a fan or can create airflow by opening windows strategically, even better!
-
Mini Breaks: Set a timer for 25-minute study blocks followed by 5-10 minute breaks. This reduces mental fatigue and gives you time to stretch, grab water, or splash your face.
-
Light Snacks Only: avoid heavy meals before a study session. A piece of fruit or a yoghurt can fuel your brain without making you feel sluggish.
-
Use the Weather – If you’re revising or reading, take it outside! Just bring shade, water, and your notes. A fresh breeze and a change of scenery can do wonders.
Life Outside the Books
Arlo is preparing for a big milestone; his first swimming lesson. He’s been buzzing with excitement, and there’s been lots of discussion about arm strokes and “starfish floating” at home. It does seem that Bradley is already setting him up to be the next Michael Phelps! As we head into the weekend, we’re looking forward to a few more energising tuition sessions, some family downtime and watching the tennis at Wimbledon too.
Remember to stay focused and to stay BA...Tuition!
