It’s been a week of setting the scene for the academic year ahead with our tutees, making sure we know exactly what each of them wants to achieve by the end of the year. It’s been inspiring to see so many students already thinking about their long-term goals and what they want their academic journey with us to look like.

We are delighted that many of our tutees managed to strike the perfect balance between hard work and much-needed rest over the summer break. Now, as the 2025/26 academic year begins, we could not be more thrilled to be back in full flow! Some pupils continued working with us over the summer to keep momentum going, others have joined us for the first time this week and by next week we will be at full tilt. Excitement, anticipation and eagerness are in the air and it feels wonderful to be starting another year of growth and achievement with such a fantastic group of students.

Today marks one of the most rewarding points in our year: GCSE Results Day. At BA Tuition, we’ve been privileged to walk alongside 21 Year 11 students on their GCSE English journey. Every one of them has worked tirelessly to balance lessons, revision, homework, extra practice and (just as importantly) resilience.

As we close the books on an action-packed academic year, we want to say a massive 'thank you' to every single one of our amazing tutees and their families. Your hard work, commitment and resilience have truly shone this year, whether that was navigating unseen poetry, nailing the structure of a Macbeth essay or just keeping up the momentum on a cold February evening!

We’re incredibly grateful to the families who have already secured their sessions with us for the 2025/26 academic year. We are now down to our final 4 English tuition spaces and they’re likely to be filled very soon! If you’re considering tuition with us but haven’t yet booked, we’d encourage you (or any friends/family you know) not to wait. We really don’t like turning students away due to being at capacity.

Firstly, we are absolutely delighted by the number of tutees who have signed up for our Summer Edge Tuition Programme. It’s been energising to see so many students choosing to stay sharp and engaged during the break, so thank you for your continued commitment! 

With Year 10 summer mock exams underway for many of our wonderful tutees, we want to send a huge 'good luck!' from all of us at BA English Tuition. These mock exams mark a big milestone, but let us reassure you: these are not the real thing. What matters most isn’t perfection, but the feedback you take from them. That feedback will then become your compass as you navigate towards the real thing in 2026. These next few weeks are all about learning, reflecting, and growing.

The start of the half term break may have delivered a few more clouds, wind drizzle than we’d hoped for, but at BA English Tuition, the atmosphere remained bright thanks to our hardworking and reflective tutees. We’re so pleased that many have struck the right balance between productive revision and well-earned rest; exactly what this part of the academic year calls for.

We were absolutely thrilled to hear how confident our students felt walking out of their AQA English Literature Paper 2 exam earlier this week. From the human conflict themed comparison question in the Poetry section, to the character and thematic questions presented on An Inspector Calls, it was pleasing that our tutees reported feeling well prepared and ready to tackle anything thrown their way; exactly what we love to see.

With the first English GCSE exam officially behind us, we want to say a huge well done to every one of our tutees who tackled the AQA English Literature Paper 1 last Monday. From all the feedback we’ve received, it seems like the question on ambition in Macbeth was a welcome challenge, and that exam technique was on point. That’s one ticked off the list—just three more to go—and if that’s how things have started, the rest is looking very promising!

With the first A Level and GCSE exams now upon us, the atmosphere at BA English Tuition is electric. Our tutees have been working tirelessly and are raring to go! Now is the time to channel that hard work into focused, confident exam performances.

With just 10 days to go until the English GCSE exam marathon begins, we can feel the excitement (and a few nerves) building in every session.

We were extremely impressed by the energy, dedication, and sheer brilliance of our tutees shown over the Easter holiday! Whether it was our Key Stage 3 learners getting a head start on GCSE texts or our Year 11s polishing their final exam skills, the work ethic was nothing short of inspiring. The 90-minute sessions proved hugely productive and we will definitely be keeping those in mind moving forward.

What a first week of the school holidays it has been!

It’s officially the Easter Holiday—and we can hardly believe it! With summer exams now within touching distance, we’re ramping things up here at BA English Tuition. Across every year group, we’ve seen a fantastic burst of energy and commitment this term.

As the clocks prepare to spring forward, so are we—straight into our most jam-packed, supportive Easter Holiday tuition programme yet! We’ve been genuinely thrilled with the uptake and enthusiasm shown for these 90-minute sessions. The planning for each individual slot is well underway and we can’t wait to get started with you all in our brand-new Home Learning Space.

Seeing that hard work translating into real progress is exactly what these practice exams are all about. They give a crucial snapshot of where students' stand, help to refine exam techniques, and highlight the final areas to sharpen before the real thing in the summer.

With the Easter break fast approaching, now is the perfect time to start thinking about fine-tuning your exam skills and getting ahead of the game before the final stretch to summer exams. That’s why we’re offering a limited number of exclusive, in-person Easter tuition sessions to help all of our tutees consolidate their knowledge, build confidence, and perfect their exam technique.

With the second round of mock exams wrapped up for many of our KS4 students, we want to take a moment to say well done!

We broke down key themes such as social responsibility, class division, and generational conflict, helping students understand how to structure their responses for maximum impact in the exam.

This week has been another exciting one at BA English Tuition as we officially started our pilot of GCSE Group Sessions!
