We were absolutely thrilled to hear how confident our students felt walking out of their AQA English Literature Paper 2 exam earlier this week. From the human conflict themed comparison question in the Poetry section, to the character and thematic questions presented on An Inspector Calls, it was pleasing that our tutees reported feeling well prepared and ready to tackle anything thrown their way; exactly what we love to see.
Now, with just two exams left in the English GCSE series, it’s time to keep that momentum train rolling! A huge good luck to all sitting English Language Paper 1 today. Remember, this paper is as much about strategy as it is about flair. Read the extract carefully, answer the questions with purpose, and plan your narrative so it flows with clarity. We’re backing you all the way.
💻 Half Term Tuition Slots Available – Let’s Make It Count!
Although many schools will pause completely during the half term break, BA English Tuition certainly won’t be slowing down. We always offer our regular tutees their same slot during school holidays. Our availability is limited for additional sessions, but if you’d like to book one in with us or make an adjustment to your regular slot time, please contact us as soon as possible at:
Whether you want to revisit key exam techniques ahead of English Language Paper 2, polish your English Literature skills, or just receive a timely English boost, we’ve got you covered.
🧠 Mental Health Corner – Pace, Don’t Chase
We know that the height of the exam season can be intense. It’s easy to fall into the trap of non-stop revision marathons (particularly during school breaks), but research suggests this approach can lead to burnout and reduced retention. According to a 2023 study by the University of Exeter, students who took regular 15–20-minute breaks for physical movement, hydration, or a walk in natural light performed better in memory-based assessments.
Our advice for the half term break? Structure your days with revision sprints, not marathons. After 45–50 minutes of focused work, get up and move. Your brain (and your grades) will thank you for it.

🎉 Life Outside the Books
It’s been a whirlwind week here at BA English Tuition, with two English GCSE exams keeping us flat out with sessions and we wouldn’t have it any other way! On the home front, emotions are running high for other reasons too. Bradley is still reeling from Spurs’ Europa League win (we’ve never seen him so quiet) while Jemma, grinning ear to ear, claims it’s the best thing to happen all year. Arlo, blissfully unaware of football rivalries, has found a new catchphrase—“That’s so silly!”—which he now shouts at just about everything from the toaster to traffic lights.
As ever, we’re cheering on our incredible tutees through every paper, paragraph and poem. The end is in sight; let’s finish strong 💪
Remember to stay focused and to stay BA...Tuition!
